Polygonal Models & Metanurbs

Inspire 3D, 1999

Big | Bigger | QuickTime Video (3.6 MB)

Just a random collection of objects that I built while experimenting with Inspire's modeller.

  • The rocket and the gem were modelled normally, but the spoon, pot body and pot handle were built using Inspire's Metanurbs feature, which I liked a lot. The pot handle also got a boolean operation to punch the hole in it.
  • The water has a displacement map to make it look like it's boiling. In the video the map is animated.
  • The still image of the rocket has a really stupid scratch map on it that I did as an experiment.
  • I did something wrong when I rendered the still image, and the gem turned into a mirror. It appears correctly in the video.
  • Yes, I know: when the gem turns in the video when it should be rolling.
