Painting a frame for a painting by Isabel Manalo

I have an unframed painting by Isabel Manalo. It's very close to the color of the walls where it hangs in the living room of my new house, and it didn't stand out the way I thought it should.

So I bought some egglant-colored paint and painted a big rectangle on the wall behind it. Since the painting has a very loosely brushed quality, I left the edges irregular, to echo the style of the painting.

I think it may be too loose. I'll give it a while, but I may go back and straighten the edges out a bit. We'll see�
